mitä meneillään?// what´s up?
sweet spot. on romanssi-projekti. Romanssi on paisuvasti näkyvillä mediassa ja populaarikulttuureissa kapeana, vain tiettyjä tarinoita korostavana ilmiönä. Eri tavoin queerien ja toiseutettujen identiteettien tunnustamattomuus puolestaan on valtapolitiikkaa, joka näkyy räikeänä red-flagina tämän hetken yhteiskunnassa.
sweet spotissa tehdään taidetoimintaa, joka tapahtuu yhteisön tarpeiden ehdoilla ja itsenäisesti järjestäytyen. Toiminta pyrkii taiteen saavutettavuuden lisäämiseen.
Helsingin Meritornissa sijaitseva sweet spot -tila toimii työhuoneena ja tapahtumapaikkana esityksille ja muulle toiminnalle. Osallistuminen on aina ilmaista.
Tapahtumakalenterista löytyy tarkemmat tiedot siitä, mitä, missä ja milloin tapahtuu. sweetspot-tilan saavutettavuustiedot päivitetään samalle sivulle huhtikuun aikana.

sweet spot. is a romance project. Romance is broadly present in media and pop cultures as a narrow phenomenon that highlights only certain stories. Not acknowledging different queer and marginalized identities is power politics that shows as a flashy red flag in today's society.
In sweet spot, alternative performances of romance are presented and created.
sweet spot is a place for art activity that considers the needs of the community and is self- organized. The work aims at enhancing the accessibility of art.
sweet spot -space is located in Meritorni, Helsinki. The space is a workroom and a place for events, performances and other activities. Participating is always free.
You can find more information about what, when and where is happening from the events. Accessibility information will be updated to the same page during April.

sweetspotter -nettisivu on projektin aikana tehdyn työn&taiteen arkisto, joka pyrkii vilpittömään läpinäkyvyyteen.
sweetspotter on myös saavutettavuustyökalu. Se on rakkauskirje tulevaisuuteen - apuväline saavutettavamman ja itsenäisesti järjestäytyvän taidetyön tueksi.
Päivitämme tätä nettisivua kerran kuussa. Saavutettavuustyökalu valmistuu joulukuussa 2025.

sweetspotter is also an accessibility tool. It is a love letter to the future - a tool supporting more accessible and self- organized art work.

sweetspot. on loveen langetus loitsu. lempeä viljellään viheliäisesti vain heteronormatiivisena kananpaskana, jolla ravituista mullista sikiää lähinnä lannoitettuja kukkakasveja; pelargonioita, narsisseja ja päivänliljoja. näissä perennoissa villiyrttejä kuten nokkosta pidetään pisteliäänä rikkaruohona, joka polttaa, ellei sitä ryöpätä!
kumminkin jokaisen noidan tulisi tietää, että eri tavoin kasvavien kitkeminen tai siirtäminen kuolevaan, ravinneköyhään maahan on julkeaa ja julmaa vallankäyttöä. sellainen mädäntää sydäntä.
sweetspot on tila teille, jotka tarvitsette sydänöitä; kuutamotansseja, hämärän hyssyjä, sudenhetkiä.
sweetspot on teille, jotka tahdotte kimarana kukkia yöliljojen ja rikkaruohojen itselleen valtaamiselle niityillä.

I mean it´s quite a long, medieval type story. these overly confident knights trying to slay dragons. they´ll be really hating beasts and have an urge to do violent heroic acts. the story builds on saviourism. who knew they were such poets.
romance stays happily ever after. alive and well.
everything is … romantic uh, but in a not so fresh -way.
in my, oh my pro ownership kind of way.
in it's only you and me, let's forget about the world way.
in only reactive, not active way
in staircase predestined for every one way
in sad girl craving for validation in a romantic way way
in romance as a business way
guess I was supposed to be asleep waiting for the magical kiss, but I had to piss and these knights don´t turn me on anyway. decided to steal the knight´s tights and go make friends with these dragons. then we came here,
so that the thing we call romance would not be tight and exclusive. to be romantic or not so romantic just as we please. this is sweet spot, baby! and you are invited ;)
