*In this context, accessibility refers to taking diversity into account when choosing event venues, built environments, and access routes, considering things such as mobility, vision, hearing, comprehension, and communication.

Come to discuss and learn about accessibility work as part of self-organized art work. In the club we share ideas and concrete ways to increase accessibility. Together, we will consider how resources can be directed to accessibility work and what can be done even with very limited resources.

STATEMENT! This work is important; it is a way to open doors to others instead of closing them right before someone's nose. Accessibility work is creating culture for equity and against discrimination.

The club will meet three times in November, with a different theme each time. So you can participate in one session or come to all three. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of accessibility – we will share and learn together – everyone already has some knowledge through their own intersections and experiences. All kinds of participation – listening, talking, challenging, or even just coming to eat – are possible and welcome. Before the discussion, free vegan and gluten-free food will be served at sweetspot. <3

We organize this club as artists and activists. Over the past year, we have worked on accessibility as part of organizing events and maintaining the self-organized sweet spot - space. In the spring, we worked with occupational therapy student and artist Pinja Eskelinen, and we will use Pinja's accessibility report and -guidelines to support our discussions. By the end of 2025, we will publish an open accessibility tool on the sweetspotter.fi which that anyone can use to support their work. So the club offers an opportunity to influence the content of the accessibility tool.

Participation and food are free! No registration needed; just show up. You can arrive late and leave early. The club will be in Finnish or English, depending on the participants. The club is held at the sweet spot -space in Merihaka, Helsinki. On how to arrive and accessibility information go to space-info -page. Tuu mukaan keskustelemaan ja oppimaan saavutettavuustyöstä osana itsejärjestäytyvää taidetyötä. Kerhossa jaetaan ajatuksia ja konkreettisia toimintatapoja saavutettavuuden lisäämiseksi. Mietitään yhdessä, miten resursseja voi kohdentaa saavutettavuustyöhön ja mitä on mahdollista tehdä myös vähäisillä resursseilla.

STATEMENT! Työ on tärkeää; se on tapa avata ovia muille, eikä sulkea niitä toisten nenän edestä. Saavutettavuustyön tekeminen on syrjimättömyyttä ja yhdenvertaisemman toimintakulttuurin luomista.

Kerho järjestetään kolme kertaa marraskuussa ja jokaisella kerralla käsitellään eri teemoja. Voit siis osallistua yhdelle kerralle tai sitten tulla kaikille kolmelle kerralle. Sulla ei tarvitse olla ennalta osaamista liittyen saavutettavuuteen – jaetaan ja opitaan yhdessä – kaikilla on jo jotain tietoa oman intersektion ja kokemuksien kautta. Monenlainen osallistuminen – kuunteleminen, puhuminen, haastaminen, tai vaikka vaan syömään tuleminen- on mahdollista ja toivottua. Ennen keskustelua sweetspotilla on tarjolla ilmaista vegaanista ja gluteenitonta ruokaa. <3

Järjestämme tätä kerhoa taiteilijoina ja aktivistisina toimijoina. Kuluneen vuoden aikana ollaan harjoitettu saavutettavuustyötä osana tapahtumien järjestämistä ja itsejärjestäytyvän sweet spot -tilan ylläpitoa. Työskenneltiin keväällä yhdessä

toimintaterapeuttiopiskelija ja taiteilija Pinja Eskelisen kanssa ja käytämme keskustelun tukena Pinjan tekemää esteettömyyskartoitusta ja saavutettavuusohjeistusta. Julkaisemme vuoden 2025 loppuun mennessä sweetspotter.fi nettisivulla avoimen saavutettavuustyökalun, jota kuka tahansa voi käyttää työnsä tukena. Kerhossa on siis mahdollisuus vaikuttaa saavutettavuustyökalun sisältöön.

Osallistuminen ja ruoka on ilmaista! Ei tarvitse ilmoittautua, voit vaan saapua paikalle. Tilaan voi saapua myöhässä ja saa myös lähteä kesken. Kerhossa puhutaan suomeksi tai englanniksi osallistujien mukaan. Kerho järjestetään sweet spot- tilassa Helsingin Merihaassa. ENG: Study circle: Radical rest and collective agency

As global crises deepen and darkness settles over the North, utopias may seem distant. Could utopia be something other than a dream of the future—perhaps action within uncertainty and a breath in the crossfire of dystopias, a shared space?

Dodo's study circle will be held in November 2025 at Sweetspot. The purpose of the study circle is to create resistance to overconsumption through collective rest and creativity. The course challenges traditional forms of education by offering an experimental, facilitated space for being together, pausing in a shared space, asking questions, and honesty. Instead of pressures, the goal is to create space for rest, sharing, creativity, and genuine encounters, where even challenging topics are not avoided. Participants are encouraged to explore the relationships and conflicts between action and rest in their own lives.

Participation in the study circle does not require any special skills or previous experience. Curiosity is enough. The evenings are free of charge, but advance registration is required. The study circle is for 16–29-year-olds who are interested in social activism and want to be part of a temporary community.

The evenings are facilitated and tailored to the participants' wishes. We speak English and/or Finnish. You can arrive flexibly between 5 and 6 p.m. The first hour is free time: you can get to know the space and the people or even take a nap. The facilitated part continues until 8 p.m., but you can leave at any time. Small vegan snacks will be served.

The study circle will be facilitated by Lea Lintula, an activist, community pedagogy student, and artist who is interested in topics such as honesty, spaces for encounter, and dismantling white supremacy.

FI: Utopia-opintopiiri: Kaamoskauden radikaalia lepoa ja yhteistä toimijuutta

Globaalien kriisien syventyessä ja kaamoksen pimetessä Pohjolassa, utopiat saattavat tuntua kaukaisilta. Voisiko utopia olla jotain muuta kuin tulevaisuuden haave – ehkä toimintaa keskellä epävarmuutta ja hengähdystauko dystopioiden ristitulessa, jaettu tila?

Dodon opintopiiri järjestetään Marraskuussa 2025 Sweetspotissa. Opintopiirin tarkoitus on luoda vastarintaa ylikulutusta vastaan kollektiivisen levon ja luovuuden kautta. Kurssi ravistelee perinteisten koulutusten muotoa tarjoten kokeellisen fasilitoidun yhdessäolon paikan, yhteisen tilan pysähtymiselle, kysymyksille ja rehelliselle jakamiselle. Suorituspaineiden sijaan tarkoitus on antaa tilaa levolle, jakamiselle, luovuudelle ja aidoille kohtaamisille, missä haastaviakaan aiheita ei väistetä. Osallistujia kannustetaan tutkimaan toimijuuden ja levon suhteita sekä ristiriitoja omissa elämissään.

Opintopiiriin osallistuminen ei edellytä erityistaitoja tai aiempaa kokemusta. Uteliaisuus riittää. Illat ovat ilmaisia, mutta vaativat ennakkoilmoittautumisen. Opintopiiri on 16–29- vuotiaille, jotka ovat kiinnostuneita yhteiskunnallisesta toimijuudesta ja kaipaavat hetkellistä yhteisöä.

Illat ovat fasilitoituja ja muokkautuvat osallistujien toiveista. Puhumme englantia ja/tai suomea.Tilaan voi saapua joustavasti klo 17–18 välillä. Ensimmäinen tunti on vapaata laskeutumista: voit tutustua tilaan, ihmisiin tai ottaa vaikka nokoset. Fasilitoitu osuus jatkuu klo 20 asti, mutta poistua saa milloin vain.Tarjolla on pientä vegaanista purtavaa.

Opintopiirin fasilitoijana toimii Lea Lintula aktivisti, yhteisöpedagogiopiskelija ja taiteilija, joka on kiinnostunut mm. rehellisyydestä, kohtaamisen tiloista ja valkoisen ylivallan purkamisesta.

SAARI
Rövaren saari on maastoltaan kallioinen ja metsäpolut ovat kapeita ja siksi saari on fyysisesti esteellinen esimerkiksi pyörätuolin käyttäjille. Esitys tapahtuu pääosin saaren mereisällä puolella, jonne matka yhteyslaiturilta on noin 300m. Saarella on joitakin eväspaikkoja, joissa on pöytä ja selkänojattomat penkit. Ulkovessat sijaitsevat Rövarenilla yhteyslaiturin läheisyydessä ja myös lautalla on pieni vessa. Saaressa tuulee enemmän kuin mantereella, joten kannatta ottaa lämpimiä vaatteita päälle. Syksyllä/talvella 2025 järjestetään tästä esityksestä toinen, elokuvamuotoinen versio. Elokuva esitetään sweet spot- tilassa, johon on esteetön pääsy myös pyörätuolinkäyttäjille.

ESITYS
Esitystä voi seurata haluamallaan tavalla. Saarella saa liikkua omaa tahtia, seuraten halujaan ja tarpeitaan – itsekseen tai toisten kanssa. Otetaan huomioon saarella elävät olennot, heidän elinympäristönsä sekä muut saarella vierailijat. Esitys liikkuu saarella ja se sisältää ainakin tekstiä, ääntä ja tanssia. Kaikki tekstit ovat saatavilla luettavana versiona suomeksi ja englanniksi. RYÖVÄREITÄ JA ROMANSSEJA. Esityksen aiheena ovat ryöväämiseen perustuva yhteiskuntajärjestys: kapitalismi sekä romanttisten suhteiden luominen eläviin ympäristöihin. Kapitalismilla tarkoitetaan tässä vallitsevaa talousjärjestelmää, joka perustuu yksityiselle omistamiselle, talouskasvulle, kilpailulle, sekä rahan ja vallan keskittymiselle. Elävillä ympäristöillä tarkoitetaan tässä paikkoja, joihin liittyy tunteita, merkityksiä ja yhteydenkokemuksia – korostaa elämän ulottumista ihmiskeskeisen ja ihmisen voimakkaasti hallitseman todellisuuden ulkopuolelle.

YHDENVERTAISUUSTYYPPI
Paikalla on yhdenvertaisuus-/ häirintäyhdyshenkilö, jolle voi ilmaista, mikäli tarvitsee/kaipaa jotakin tai kokee minkäänlaista häirintää tapahtuman aikana. Jos haluat antaa paikan päällä palautetta, etkä halua kertoa sitä suoraan esiintyjille, voit kääntyä yhdenvertaisuushenkilön puoleen, joka välittää palautteen anonyyminä eteenpäin.

SWEETSPOT- LEVÄHDYSPISTE
Tapahtuman ajan saarella on sweetspot- levähdyspiste, josta löytyy juomista ja eväitä, makuualustoja, vilttejä sekä ensiaputarvikkeita. Levähdyspisteellä on teltta, joka toimii rauhallisena lepotilana. Löydät yhdenvertaisuustyypin sekä perusensiavusta huolehtivan tyypin levähdyspisteeltä. Sieltä voi myös lainata kiikareita ja valittuja kirjoja mukaan seikkailuihin <3 Piknik tapahtuu levähdyspaikan läheisyydessä, jossa on tarjolla keittoa ja pientä evästä, nam!

ISLAND
Rövaren island is rocky and the trails are narrow, so the island is physically not accessible for e.g. wheel chail users. The performance will happen on the ”sea side” of the island – the distance from the place where the boat arrives is about 300m. There are some spots with a table and benches without backs. Outside toilets are located close to the place where the boat arrives and there is a small toilet on the boat.There is more wind on the island compared to land, so wear warm! In the fall/winter we will organize a video based version of the performance. The performance will happen at sweet spot- space in Merihaka, which is accessible also for wheel chair users.

PERFORMANCE
You are free to follow the performance in a way you want. You can move on the island at your own pace, following your needs and desires – by yourself or with others. Let´s be mindful that there are other creatures living on the island and there may be other visitors. The performance moves on the island and it contains at least text, sound and dance. All texts are available in written version both in english and finnish. ROBBERS AND ROMANCES. The themes for the performance are: societal structure based on robbery aka capitalism & creating romantic relationships to living surroundings. Capitalism here means prevalent economic system, that builds on private posession, financial growth, competition and centralization of money and power. Living surroundings here mean places that hold emotion, meanings and connection – emphasizes life that reaches outside human centered and heavily human controlled reality.

EQUITY PERSON
During the event there will be equity-/harrasment contact person present. You can express them if you need/lack something or if experience any kind of harrassment. If you want to give feedback on the spot, but don´t want to say it straight to the performers, you can turn to the equity contact person who will anonymously give it forward.

SWEETSPOT- RESTING POINT
During the event there is sweetspot- resting point, where you can find something to drink and eat, sleeping pads, blankets and first-aid supplies. On the resting spot there is a tent that works as a calmer space. You will find the equity person and a person that takes care of basic first-aid from the resting point. You can also borrow binoculars and chosen books to go with your adventures <3 The picnic will take place close to the resting spot, where you will be served soup and little snacks, nam!

Lautta Rövaren-saarelle lähteen Espoon Otarannasta, laita osoitteeksi Otaniemen saaristovenelaituri.

Lähimmät bussipysäkit sijaitsevat Otarannantiellä (noin 600m), Kuusisaarentiellä (noin 900m) ja Vuorimiehentiellä (noin 800m). Otaniementiellä on pikaratikkapysäkki (noin 600m) ja lähin metroasema on Aalto-yliopisto (noin 1,4km).

Lähimmät pyörätelineet löytyvät Retuperäntieltä, Otahallin edestä (noin 300m). Lähimmät alepa pyörät löytyvät Luolamiehentien ja Otarannan risteyksestä (noin 150m). Yhteyslaituria vastapäätä, Otarannan vieressä on ilmaisia parkkipaikkoja (noin 200m, parkkikiekko tarvitaan).

HOW TO ARRIVE? 31.8

The boat to Rövaren leaves from Otaranta Espoo, search for ”Otaniemen saaristovenelaituri”.

The closest bus stops are located in Otarannantie (about 600m), Kuusisaarentie (about 900m) and Vuorimiehentie (about 800m). There is a tram stop in Otaniementie (about 600m) and the closest metro station is Aalto-yliopisto (about 1,4km).

The closest bike stands are in Retuperäntie, in front of Otahalli (about 300m). You can find the closest alepa bikes at the crossing of Luolamiehentie and Otaranta (about 150m). There are free parking spots close to Otaranta, opposite to the place wherw the boat leaves (about 200m, parking disk needed).

In alinen, below the normative world, two extra-sore-sweet-as-fuck -hearts wander in the shadows of the gatekeepers' razor gazes. They will use soft i(r/c)onic punchlines to kiss or punch the faces of guards of love to find a secret passage through the world of norms to reach the witcheaven.

Esityksen sisältö ottaa kantaa romanssin portinvartioihin. Portinvartijat ovat sellaisia normeja ja hallitsevia rakenteita, jotka estävät romanssin monenlaisten ja etenkin marginaalisten muotojen toteutumista.

Osallistuminen

Esitys ja jamit ovat ILMAISIA eikä niihin tarvitse ilmoittautua. Tule vaan paikalle ;) Jos tarvitset HSL lipun päästäksesi paikalle, voidaan maksaa se sulle! Esitys ja jamit tapahtuvat ULKONA julkisessa tilassa ja ovat kaikille avoimia. Paikalla on istuinalustoja ja vilttejä, yksi selkänojallinen puistonpenkki sekä muutama retkituoli. Kannattaa pukeutua säänmukaisesti eli todennäköisesti tarpeeksi lämpimästi. Osallistujille tarjoillaan teetä. Tapahtuman aikana on mahdollista päästä Meritornin sisätilaan lämmittelemään tai käymään vessassa – käytössä on myös esteetön vessa (matka tapahtumapaikalta noin 400m).

Esityksessä leikitään yhdessä ja aina voi osallistua itselle sopivalla tavalla tai olla osallistumatta. Esityksen aikana saa liikkua sekä poistua tai saapua kesken kaiken. Kuultavat tekstit on mahdollista saada luettavana paperiversiona sekä suomeksi, että englanniksi.

Paikalla on YHDENVERTAISUUS- /HÄIRINTÄYHDYSHENKILÖ, jolle voi ilmaista, mikäli tarvitsee/kaipaa jotakin tai kokee minkäänlaista häirintää tapahtuman aikana. Saapuminen

Tapahtumapaikka sijaitsee Näkinpuistossa osoitteessa: Miina Sillanpäänkatu 13. Lähimmät julkisen liikenteen pysäkit ovat Haapaniemen bussi- ja ratikkapysäkit sekä Hakaniemen metroasema (katso karttakuva). Lähimmät pyörätelineet löytyvät teatterikorkeakoulun Sörnäisten rantatien puoleiselta seinustalta ja lähimmät alepa pyörät Haapaniemen kadun Hämeentien puolessa päässä. Merihaan parkkihallissa on maksullisia parkkipaikkoja.

The performance takes up and questions the gatekeepers of romance. Here gatekeepers mean norms and power structures, that prevent alternative and especially marginal forms of romance from happening.

Participation

The performance and the jam are FREE and you don´t have to sign up in advance. Just show up, If you need a HSL ticket to get there, we can pay the ticket for you! Send us a direct message on Instagram or Pixelfed @sweetspot.community or send us an email to: sweetspotcontact@proton.me. We will never ask about your situation.

The performance and jam will take place OUTSIDE in a public space and are open to everyone. There will be blankets, sit pads, one bench with a back and a few camping chairs. We recomend to dress according to the weather, most likely consider warm clothes. Tea will be served to participants. During the event there is a possibility to go to Meritorni, if you need to go indoors or use the toilet – also accessible toilet available (distance from event place approx. 400m).

In the performance we will play together. You can always choose the ways you wan´t to participate or decide not to participate. Feel free to move around, leave and arrive during the performance as you wish. The audible texts are also available in written form on paper both in english and finnish.

During the event there will be EQUITY-/HARRASMENT CONTACT PERSON present. You can express them if you need/lack something or if experience any kind of harrassment. If you want to give feedback on the spot, but don´t want to say it straight to the performers, you can turn to the equity contact person who will anonymously give it forward.

How to arrive

The event is located in Näkinpuisto, the address is: Miina Sillanpään katu 13. The closest public pransport stops are Haapaniemi bus- and tram stops, and Hakaniemi metro station (marked in the map picture). The closest bike stands are located next to the theatre academy building on the Sörnäisten rantatie side and there are alepa bikes on Haapaniemenkatu, close to Hämeentie. Merihaka parking hall has parking lots (they cost something).
